mislead you into submitting your confidential information such as Login

Online Banking Risk Awareness |
| |
| As
a major international bank operating in Singapore, security and confidentiality
are key in the design and operation of our online banking systems.
Our Online Banking system is secure and we have taken stringent
measures to maintain such security.
However, there are inherent risks associated with Online Banking
that you should be aware of. |
| |
| As
with any internet-based system, service providers and end-users are
subject to risk of virus attacks, hacking and unauthorised attempts
to gain access and commit fraudulent transactions.
While we have put in place the necessary security features, the
risk of such malicious attacks cannot be totally eliminated. |
| |
| In
recent times, such activities have been targeted at end-users.
Thus, it is imperative that you adopt the Recommended
Security Practices
to minimize the risk of virus attacks, hacking and unauthorised attempts
to gain access and commit fraudulent transactions. |

| In
addition to the security measures that Standard Chartered Bank has implemented,
you play an equally crucial role in ensuring your online security.
We recommend that you take the necessary security precautions
such as the following: |
| |
| 1.
How

- Do
not choose a PIN that is easily identifiable such as your User ID,
personal telephone number, birthday or other personal information
etc.
- Avoid
using sequential numbers (such as 12345) or the same digit more
than twice (such as 12322) for your PIN.
Do not recycle your PIN.
- The
PIN must be kept confidential at all times and should never be divulged
to anyone.
- The
PIN must be memorized and the PIN advice destroyed.
Do not write down your PIN or store it anywhere.
Avoid using it when others can observe you.

How
to safeguard and protect your PC |
