The services and privileges provided to Preferred Banking customers of Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore are governed by these terms. In these terms, "you" refers to you, your joint account holder or your authorised person.
Preferred Banking $80 CashBack Terms and Conditions
- This $80 CashBack promotion ("Promotion") is available from now till 30 June 2012 ("Promotion Period").
- To be eligible for the Promotion:-
(a)if you hold a valid Current Account with us, you must apply for the Preferred World MasterCard Credit Card ("Preferred Credit Card") as a principal cardholder; or
(b)if you do not hold a valid Current Account with us, you must apply for the Preferred Credit Card as a principal cardholder, and open any Current Account with us concurrently during the Promotion Period.
Any application received by us after the Promotion Period will not be eligible for the Promotion. Both above-mentioned accounts must be valid and in good standing during the Promotion Period. For clarity, you will not be eligible for this Promotion if you cancel your existing Preferred Credit Card and reapply for another Preferred Credit Card during the Promotion Period. - $80 CashBack will be credited to your principal Preferred Credit Card account within 30 days from your Preferred Credit Card approval date.
- Standard Chartered Bank reserves the right to claw back the $80 CashBack if you do not fulfill the eligibility requirements set out in clause 2 above. Standard Chartered Bank's decision on all matters relating to the Promotion is final and binding.
- Standard Chartered Bank reserves the right to revise these terms, modify or withdraw this Promotion at any time without prior notice or reason.
- Please read this Preferred Banking $80 CashBack Terms and Conditions together with our Customer Terms, Current/Cheque/Savings Account and Time Deposit Terms, and Credit Card Terms ("Standard Terms"). In the event of inconsistencies between the Standard Terms and these terms, these terms prevail only to the extent of such inconsistency.
SINGAPORE PREFERRED BANKING SERVICES AND PRIVILEGES TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- Membership
1.1 You must meet our eligibility criteria to become a Preferred Banking customer of Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore. Your admission to the Preferred Banking membership is at our discretion. We may end your Preferred Banking membership at any time and notify you.
1.2 Your Preferred Banking membership will be valid for one year from the date we approve your membership. Renewal of your Preferred Banking membership for each subsequent year is at our discretion.
1.3 You may end your Preferred Banking membership by giving us written notice.
- Eligibility criteria
To enjoy the exclusive Preferred Banking membership and all the benefits and privileges that come with it, you must:2.1 maintain a minimum of $50,000 in deposits and/or investments; or
2.2 take up $600,000 in mortgages with us; or
2.3 earn a minimum annual income of $72,000, take up the Preferred World MasterCard Credit Card ("Credit Card") and hold a Preferred Line of Credit or a Current Account with us.
- Preferred Banking services, privileges and products
3.1 Preferred Banking Relationship Rewards
3.1.1 To qualify for the Relationship Rewards, you must hold valid or non-delinquent:-
(i) Preferred Banking membership;
(ii) Credit Card; and
(iii) Preferred Line of Credit or Current Account with us.
3.1.2 The Relationship Rewards, in the form of 360° Rewards Points, will be credited to the valid Credit Card account.
3.1.3 Credit Card or Preferred Line of Credit or Current Account that has been terminated or is delinquent will not qualify for the Relationship Rewards.
3.1.4 Credit Card spend rewards
360° Rewards Points can be earned on total Credit Card spend reflected in the statement in any particular month. "Credit Card spend" means retail transactions charged to the Credit Card reflected in the statement in any particular month except any interest, fees, charges, funds transfer, balance transfer and cash advance.
If you hold a Credit Card, and a Preferred Line of Credit or a Current Account with us, you will enjoy:
(i)1 point for every S$1 you spent, in the 1st month of your Credit Card account opening.
(ii) 1.5 points for every S$1 spent from the 2nd month onwards, if your total Credit Card spend reflected in your statement is less than S$1,500.
(iii) 2.5 points for every S$1 spent from the 2nd month onwards, if your total Credit Card spend reflected in your statement is S$1,500 or more.
3.1.5 Relationship Rewards
If you are the principal cardholder of the Credit Card and the primary account holder of a product within the Product Category, you will earn 360° Rewards Points for that Product Category.
(i) If you have multiple product holdings within the same Product Category, you will only be awarded 360° Rewards Points one time per calendar month.
(ii) To earn the 360° Rewards Points for Online Banking, you must perform at least one Online Banking transaction every calendar month.
(iii) Mortgage Loans, Investments, Fixed Deposits and Current and/or Savings Accounts that are closed within the calendar month will not earn any 360° Rewards Points.
(iv) For the Mortgage Loans product holding, commercial mortgage loans are not eligible to earn 360° Rewards Points.
(v) For the Current and/or Savings Accounts product holding, your minimum average daily balance in your Current and/or Saving Accounts must be more than S$1 in order to earn the 360° Rewards Points.
3.1.6 Subject to 3.1.5 above, you will be awarded a maximum of 250 points per calendar month for every Product Category.
3.1.7 Product Category means any one of the following:
(i) Mortgage Loans: Any valid product holding in mortgage loans as at end of the month.
(ii) Investments: Any valid product holding in Unit Trusts, Medium Term Notes, Structured Deposits, Retail Bonds, Premium Currency Investment and Equity Linked Notes as at end of the month. CPF-purchased funds do not qualify.
(iii) Fixed Deposits: Any valid product holding in time deposits denominated in local currency and foreign currency as at end of the month.
(iv) Current and/or Savings Accounts: Any valid product holdings in current accounts (regardless of denominations) or saving accounts (regardless of denominations) as at end of the month.
(v) Online Banking: Online transactions for online bill payment or Pay-Any-Card service carried out on our Online Banking platform.
(vi) The period used for determination of valid product holdings is based on calendar month.
3.1.8 The methods used to compute qualifying valid product holdings are at the sole discretion of the Bank.
3.1.9 We reserve the right not to reward 360° Rewards Points on any particular Mortgage Loans, Investments, Fixed Deposits and Current and/or Savings Accounts or credit cards. We need not give you prior notice if we do so.
3.2 Preferred Line of Credit
You may apply for Preferred Line of Credit, a line of credit facility, on your Current Account subject to you earning a minimum annual income of S$72,000.
You will be issued a Preferred World MasterCard Debit Card if your Preferred Line of Credit is approved. No additional limit is granted to you in respect of the Debit Card over and above the line of credit already granted in respect of your Preferred Line of Credit account.
3.3 Preferred World MasterCard Debit Card
3.3.1 You may apply for a Preferred World MasterCard Debit Card ("Debit Card").
In order for you to enjoy CashBack on your Debit Card spend, your Debit Card must be linked to your Preferred Current Account and:
(i) you need to maintain a minimum average daily balance in the Preferred Current Account; or
(ii) you show us satisfactory evidence that you credit your salary into the Preferred Current Account as determined by us.
3.3.2 CashBack is subject to a monthly cap of $500 for all transactions and will be credited for transactions made on MasterCard debit transactions only.
3.3.3 CashBack is calculated at the end of the calendar month, based on transaction posting date and average daily balance of the Preferred Current Account. 3.3.4 CashBack is given at our discretion and we reserve the right not to continue to credit the CashBack to your Preferred Current Account or to change the amount of CashBack given.
3.3.5 The amount of CashBack will only be accrued and credited if your Preferred Current Account is in good standing. There will be no CashBack if your Preferred Current Account is suspended, closed or you are in breach of our banking agreement.
3.4 Unarranged overdraft
3.4.1 We may allow the Current Account to be overdrawn. We charge interest on the overdrawn balance at a rate and on the basis we determine from time to time subject to minimum monthly charge.
3.4.2 We may debit and interest or charge to the account monthly or at such other intervals we determine. However, we are not obliged to grant you any loans, advances or credit facility on the Current Account.
3.4.3 Upon termination of the Current Account, we are entitled to:
(i) retain the whole or any part of the available credit balance on the Current Account for a period of 45 days or any other period as we may notify you from the date the Current Account in closed; and
(ii) continue to debit the Current Account for any interest or charge or card transactions effected whether before or after the closure of Current Account or the termination of your liability for any balance due to Current Account.
3.5 Pay-Any-Card service
3.5.1 You must apply for our electronic banking service before we make available to you our Pay-Any-Card service.
3.6 Preferred Queue
A priority queue is available at our branches for Preferred Banking customers.
3.7 Global Link
3.7.1 The Global Link Service is provided subject to the Global Link Guidelines available when you access Online Banking.
3.8 Telegraphic Transfers Benefits
You will receive a 50% discount on our Handling Commission for telegraphic transfers. However, you will still need to pay our Commission-in-lieu fees, Cover Cable Charges as well as Overseas Bank Charges.
3.9 Services Provided By Third Parties
From time to time, we may introduce to you other Preferred Banking privileges and services provided by third parties. These services and privileges are subject to the terms and conditions of the third parties. You may be required to sign a separate agreement with the third parties. We are not liable for any loss you may incur in connection with such services and privileges.
- Fees and Charges
4.1 We charge you fees for your membership and for providing you with Preferred Banking services, privileges, or any other Preferred Banking products (e.g. Preferred Line of Credit and Current Account). The fees are set out in the Preferred Banking tariff sheet. We may revise the fees periodically and notify you of the revision. You may request for a copy of the Preferred Banking tariff sheet or the specific charges for a particular Preferred Banking service by contacting your relationship manager, via phone banking, visiting our branches or from the Standard Chartered Bank website at www.standardchartered.com.sg
4.2 We reserve the right not to provide you with any of the services, privileges and products if you cease to be our Preferred Banking customer. If you wish to continue to enjoy the Preferred Banking services and privileges and products, we may allow you to do so subject to you paying the additional fees we may impose and you authorise us to debit the additional fees from any of your account with us. - Availability
5.1 We may vary or withdraw services and privileges at any time. You may find out the current services and privileges available to you by contacting your relationship manager, via phone banking, visiting our branches or from the Standard Chartered Bank website at www.standardchartered.com.sg
- Information We Disclose
6.1 You consent to us, our officers, employees, agents and advisers disclosing information relating to you (including details of the accounts, products or any security) to anyone we consider necessary in order to provide you with Preferred Banking services and privileges. You consent to us contacting you at the address, email address and phone numbers you have provided to us, to give you information on other products and services that we, or our strategic partners, may offer.

7.1 We reserve the right to vary, modify, add or delete any of these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice by posting such changes at the Standard Chartered Bank website at www.standardchartered.com.sg
7.2 Please read this Singapore Preferred Banking Services And Privileges Terms And Conditions together with our Customer Terms, Current/Cheque/Savings Account and Time Deposit Terms, Personal Loan/Personal Line of Credit/Overdraft Terms, Credit Card Terms, Electronic Banking Terms and Conditions, and Pay Any Bank’s Credit Cards Terms and Conditions (collectively “Standard Terms”).In the event of inconsistency between the Standard Terms and these terms, these terms prevail only to the extent of such inconsistency.
